Your privacy matters. This policy explains clearly and honestly what data Harpichord collects, what it does not collect, and how any data is used.
1. Who we are
Harpichord is developed and published by Latcho (indie developer). For privacy questions, contact: zetmeel@gmail.com
2. Data we do not collect
Harpichord does not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifier
- Your location
- Device contacts, microphone input, camera, or files
- Audio you play or record in the app
- Any usage analytics, session data, or in-app behaviour
- Advertising identifiers
The app does not contain any third-party analytics SDK (e.g. Firebase, Mixpanel).
3. Data stored on your device only
Harpichord saves your settings (sound parameters, FX configuration, display
preferences) and session count locally on your device using Android
SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device and is
deleted when you uninstall the app or clear app data.
4. In-app purchases — Google Play Billing
The optional FX #1 Gold Pack is sold through Google Play Billing. All payment processing is handled entirely by Google. Harpichord receives only a confirmation of whether a purchase is active or not — no payment details, no card numbers, no billing address.
Google's handling of your payment data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy .
5. In-app review prompt
After several sessions the app may display a Google Play review prompt, powered by the Play In-App Review API. This is a standard Google dialog — Harpichord does not receive, store, or process your review or rating. All review data is handled by Google Play.
6. Crash and performance data — Google Play Console
Google Play automatically collects anonymous crash reports and performance metrics (Android Vitals) for all apps distributed through the Play Store. This data is aggregated and anonymised by Google and made available to the developer via Play Console to help identify and fix stability issues. Harpichord itself does not send any additional crash telemetry.
7. MIDI output
If you connect a MIDI device, Harpichord sends MIDI note data to that device via Android's MIDI API. No MIDI data is recorded, stored, or transmitted over the internet.
8. Children's privacy
Harpichord does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because no personal data is collected at all, the app is safe for use by all ages.
9. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because Harpichord does not collect personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you have any concern, contact us at zetmeel@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
For data held by Google (Play Billing, Android Vitals, review data), please refer to Google Account settings .
10. Changes to this policy
If we ever introduce analytics or change our data practices, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will change. We will not collect new categories of data without updating this policy first.
